Methyl-d3 p-toluenesulfonate

Methyl-d3 p-toluenesulfonate is mainly used as a methylating agent to transfer a trideuteromethyl group (CD3 group) to targeted substrates. From a health risk perspective, methyl-d3 p-toluenesulfonate is a safer alternative to the widely used iodomethane-d3. It is much less volatile, which results in a greatly reduced risk of exposure. Furthermore, it is considered to have a lower acute toxicity and lesser carcinogenic concerns than iodomethane-d3.
