Methanesulfonic acid-d4 is the deuterated form from Methanesulfonic acid, in which four Hydrogen atoms have been replaced by Deuterium (D) atoms.
The general uses are in proteomics and as acid catalyst in organic reactions and isotopically labeled standard for organic analysis.
The properties of Methanesulfonic acid-d4 are: low vapor pressure / liquid at room temperature / strong acid, but non-oxidizing / less toxic and corrosive as compared to mineral acids / strongly hygroscopic, similar to Sulfuric acid-d2.
